the BEST makeup products

Until the last couple, I was never into makeup and didn't ever put effort into getting ready. Normally, I would just throw on clothes and brush my hair and call it a day... which is totally fine.

But recently, I've found that setting aside each morning to put makeup on, do my hair, and pick out a fun outfit makes me feel so happy. I set myself up to go into each day feeling relaxed and confident. It's my new favorite form of self care.

With that being said, I have always been an advocate that everyone is beautiful regardless of if they are wearing makeup, have their hair done, or what outfit they are wearing. But starting to develop a new skin care, makeup, and hair routine has drastically impacted my mood for the day.

I am not a makeup guru by any means, but I've developed a makeup routine that is natural but makes me feel confident. And the best part is... I always do it in under 10 minutes! So I wanted to share my new favorite products that I couldn't live with out. Maybe getting in the routine of doing something like makeup for yourself everyday will help you too!!

Starting off with a secret gem that is life changing; Glossier Futuredew. This stuff is a game changer. It's the perfect mix of skincare and makeup. You put this on right before any makeup and it adds a sparkly glow to your whole face. Even if you don't feel like doing any makeup at all, this serum makes you look glowy and tan. I wear it everyday and all the time. Plus it's great for your skin!!

Next up is Supergoop! Glow Screen. I just got into this product but I love it already. It's a glowy and bronzy sunscreen that works a perfect base for anything from a no-makeup look to a full face. Wearing SPF is SO important, and Glow Screen is 40 spf which is perfect. This stuff is the best for anything from a natural look to a beach day to just wearing it alone.

I'm sure this one is pretty well known... Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Sunshine drops. They are super popular but it's very well deserved. Mixing these with your moisturizer or the Glow Screen adds the best bronzed look. Especially when I'm not feeling like wearing much makeup, I always add a few drops to my face to make myself glow. These are definitely not overrated!

This is the first concealer I ever tried and no matter how many others I test out, Tarte Shape Tape is always my favorite. This concealer is perfect for under-eyes and any acne spots. I normally buy it in a shade lighter to brighten up my face. This stuff is going to be your next favorite concealer and I swear by it.

When I'm feeling like doing a more full coverage makeup look for a night out or special occasion I never forget my contour. Before I started learning about makeup I never used anytime of contour or bronzer until I found the Milk Makeup Contour Stick. I think it's an exact dupe for the Rare Beauty contour stick. This stuff blends like butter and never separates. I can't live without it anymore. Trust me... you need this.

Another viral beauty product; Rare Beauty Blush. I'm proud to say that I've been a lover of this blush for quite a while before it became famous. This blush is magic. I have it in shade hope, and it's the best. If you haven't already invested in this already you must now. Take my word for it. I truly believe that this stuff will last me forever... you only have to use a tiny amount each time. My secret tip- use a brush instead of a beauty blender to get the most out of your blush.

Again, I am not very good at makeup in any shape or form. So I never knew exactly what setting powder is and the magic it holds until a few weeks ago when I tried out the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder. I would always get confused when my concealer would get splotchy and this powder keeps it looking perfect all day long. I haven't explored every setting powder but this one gets 5 stars from me.

Now... my holy grail of brow products is the Glossier BoyBrow. It's a super light brown tinted gel that keeps your brows in place while adding just a tiny amount of color to fill them in. The best part is you can kind of use it however much or little you need. You can fill your brows in a lot/little, brush them anyway you want, and they will hold all day! Brows change your face so much and the BoyBrow is life-changing.

Mascara is something I feel like I know better than any other product. I can attest to the fact that I have tried nearly every mascara under the sun. But I have one winner; Ilia Volumizing Mascara. No other mascara lengthens, volumizes, and colors your lashes like the Ilia one. If you trust me on anything... it's that this mascara will change your lash game forever. It's 100% the holy grail of mascara.

The most important step to ANY makeup routine is... gloss!! While many people rave about the Dior Lip Oil, I think that the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb is the all time best lip gloss in the history of lip glosses. It comes in so many different colors but my favorite is the classic clear. This gloss checks off the 3 most important necessities a gloss must have; it tastes good, lasts long, and isn't sticky. If you buy anything from this list, the Gloss Bomb is the way to go.
