you deserve to be loved by yourself

For some people, Valentine's Day comes with flowers, dinner dates, and feeling loved by a partner. For others, it's a day of hating love and feeling down. And for some people, it's just another normal day.
Regardless of what your Valentine's Day looked like this year, try to remember that the #1 person you should be loving is yourself.
One of the most valuable things I've learned in life is that you can't control other people. You can't force anyone to love you today or any day. Along with that, people are going to come and go in and out of your life, and you can't control who sticks around to love you.
With that being said, prioritizing loving yourself is going to get you much further in life than relying on others' words of affirmation. I've experienced losing myself in someone's love and neglecting to love myself. But this year, I began to truly make my self love a priority.
Doing one or two small things each day to take care of myself and make me happy has really changed the way I view myself and has allowed me to share more love with others as well.
Here are my top 5 ways to love yourself this week:
Go for a walk all by yourself: Listening to my favorite music or podcast while getting outside or to the gym makes me feel so good. Spending time alone while doing something to get my body moving always leaves me feeling productive.
Have a self care night: Taking a shower, putting on my favorite pjs, doing a long skincare routine, eating a treat, and watching a movie never fails to make me feel calm and taken care of.
Buy yourself something special: Whether it be flowers, a new lounge set, or some snacks, buying myself a little treat to reward myself for something makes me feel loved.
Write yourself a love letter: You know how loved you feel when a friend gives you a sweet handwritten card? Do it for yourself. Writing about what I'm proud of myself for, love myself for, and want to do better this week is somethings that allows me to reflect on my self love.
Get all dressed up for no reason: I adore getting all dolled up. It makes me feel like such a woman in the most feminine and loving way. When I'm having a rough day or week, I always try and spend a long time getting ready, doing my hair and makeup, and picking out a cute outfit to wear for the day. It never fails to brighten my mood and I always have a good day.
Doing something extra special to love myself is something I value everyday, and I hope you can help yourself feel loved too.
Lots of love,
Lolo
